Aphelion is the point of greatest distance of a body from the center of its elliptical or eccentric orbit. In modern celestial mechanics the center is also the center of attraction, which is usually the center of mass of the system. Historically, in geocentric systems, the Aphelion is measured from the center of the Earth.

Aphelion The Palatin Project at its best! This album agreeably surprises with a wide span range of style: some tracks emanate from Electronic Music in its original meaning, where sound dominates over structure and rhythm; others apparently derive from a slightly beatdriven dancefloor universe. This album started as a collection of all-day-noise and ambiences. During the first phases of creation it felt, as if I developed and evolved as far from my musical roots as I was never before: no more sequencers, all just noise and sound. But during the process - which took almost two years to go through - it went back to music, became less abstract. So now we have sound AND music, and I am still circling around my musical center. Sometimes more distant, sometimes closer.

In two tracks Aphelion is featuring spoken word. Thanks to the speakers: Young Mi Kim (Aphelion part 5) and Teaadora Nikolova (Aphelion part 7). The poem "Spring And All" by William Carlos Williams in Part 7 is used with permission of New Directions Publishing, New York.

| The almost epic cover-artwork of this album was created by alaCaesar (Istanbul), based on the picture "sailing the desert" by Inga Nielsen (Hamburg). |

Music goes networking |
| |
|
Starting in Summer 2009 my account at the networking-platform mySpace was opened. I had an amazing response in friends comments and a quite nice result in counting the songplays on my site. So I will continue to publish some more music there. I´m looking forward to accept your friendrequest or invitation there !

Music meets poetry |
| |
Very often accidential events and erratic incidents start to develop influence on things. One of these erratic incidents was the visist of two innocent Dubliners in our village during the summer months. We had a nice time at our local vine festival. And as I was looking for native english speakers, I immediateley convinced them to recite some poems in front of my microphone.
As I startet to create a first composition featuring one of those poems (Always) ... I developed the idea to dedicate the whole next album to this brilliant writer and poet. Actually I am working simultanously on different albums in a parallel process: Electron, dedicated to Robert Graves, Nebula as an independent musical adventure, and The Babylonic Collection.

First video out in YouTube |
| |
My first Video is out in YouTube: a dreamlike sequence of enchanted virtue, taken in a foggy winterly forest ... the trees loaded with frost. Featuring electronic music produced by The Palatin Project. The title of the composition is APHELION IV. - The Version of the musical track is slightly different from the one on the album. Click this -> to watch it here or see it in YouTube. |
